The correct corrective base to use for yellow hair is violet. Violet is on the opposite side of the color wheel from yellow, making it a complementary color and therefore able to neutralize the yellow tone. Blue may also help to neutralize yellow, but it can be too strong and may leave the hair with a blue tint. Orange is not a suitable corrective base for yellow hair because it is on the same side of the color wheel and therefore will not neutralize the yellow. D is also not a suitable option as it suggests doing nothing to correct the yellow tone.
